MATEO BLUMER

CEO, Investment Advisor

Mateo has a decade of experience in alternative investments, including real estate development, early-stage VC, and hedge fund management. He manages the Solidarity Capital Hedged Income Growth and Custom Portfolio Management offerings, on the Interactive Brokers platform. In May 2017, Mateo was invited to lead a discussion on “The Future of Investing” by CMRB, on Necker Island, BVI. Prior to co-founding Solidarity Capital 2016, Mateo worked for five years as a Partner at Flohr Asset Management in Bellevue, Washington, where he worked directly with Principal and longtime-mentor Jeff Flohr.

Mateo has raised over $20 million in private investment capital, and is dedicated to taking care of both his clients and the entrepreneurs and developers he serves.

Before moving into the investment management industry, Mateo worked at The Economist Group in London, UK under CEO Andrew Rashbass as a participant in The Economist Group 2010-11 Management Training Programme. Mateo graduated from Claremont McKenna College Class with a dual BA’s in Financial Economics & International Relations.

Mateo is passionate about impact investing and empowering entrepreneurs and individuals who are driven by compassion for others and love for what they do. When not working, he can be found visiting friends and partners abroad, snowboarding and trekking the mountain ranges of the Pacific Northwest.

ANDRES BLUMER

Latin America

Andres provides guidance on Solidarity Capital’s investment operations and strategic partnerships in both the U.S. and Colombia. In addition, Andres is the co-founder and COO at Mi Aguila, a leading transport and logistics technology company focused on making Latin American cities more livable and enjoyable. He has been actively involved in an array of real estate, hospitality, and early stage start-up investments, overseeing an investment portfolio totaling more than $20 million in invested capital. Andres also serves as a board member and advisor to Mensajeros Urbanos, SuperFuds  and the Click Clack Hotel. Andres graduated from University of Southern California with a BA in International Business.

DREW NORDSTROM

Mentor

Drew is the co-founder of Nordstrom Blumer Capital Partners, a private impact investment management partnership formed with Mateo Blumer. Drew is a co-founder and Advisor to Zenledger, a crypto currency tax and reporting service for blockchain investing. Drew brings years of social impact and nonprofit experience, including his mentorship and guidance of Journeymen, a social enterprise backed by Solidarity Capital.

In 2018, Drew completed his JD/MBA at Seattle University and was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association. Drew graduated from Chapman University with a BA in Economics, and holds a Master’s Degree in Political Economy from the University of Manchester.

CONSTANTINE SEFERIS

Chief Compliance Officer

Constantine oversees of our investments and client relations across Eurasia. Prior to founding Solidarity Capital with Mateo Blumer, Constantine sourced and managed Arcana, a hedge fund investing in Chinese ‘A-Shares’ (available to foreign investors for the first time) via the Shanghai/Hong Kong Stock Connect in 2015. Constantine is an investor in and advisor to RedPulse, a China market intelligence company based in Shanghai. At RedPulse, he was closely involved with the company’s successful $15 million ICO on the NEO Exchange platform. RPX now has a market cap of over $140 million USD.

Constantine has 5+ years working in international private equity and is our resident expert on international corporate planning and tax structure. Constantine graduated from INSEAD Paris in 2010, and moved to Shanghai in 2011. He speaks English, French and Mandarin fluently.

TOM BLUMER

Chief Technology Officer

Having built or served as a technical expert on the back-end software infrastructure underpinning most of our portfolio companies, Tom brings deep experience and business understanding to Solidarity Capital as the most senior technologist. Tom has spent decades as a CTO and senior back-end software developer for a number of high-growth technology success stories (created laser printing software & patents, sold to Phoenix Technologies, 1991; Lead Developer @ Vermeer Technologies, bought by Microsoft in 1998 for $140 million less than 2 years after launching; CTO, AllStar Directories, 2004, sold to Austin Ventures in 2006 for $120 million).
